Worship at Epiphany

We worship on Sunday mornings at 8:00 am (Rite I) and 10:00 am (Rite II)

During the summer months (June through Labor Day)

we have one service at 9:30 am.

2019 Summer Worship:  June 9 - September 1

Both Rite I and Rite II services are Eucharistic (communion) services.

The two rites stem from the adoption of the new Book of Common Prayer in 1979. There was a significant body of opinion which did not desire a great deal of change from the 1928 Prayer Book (the revision prior to 1979), while others wanted a far more updated service. So, in typical via media fashion, BOTH services were adopted.

Rite I is more akin to the older, 1928 version, retaining the use of "thee" and "thou," based on the old English language form of the 1600’s.

Our 8:00am Rite I service is perfect for those who prefer a quiet, contemplative worship setting.

Rite II is a more modern service, with updated language and more options.   This service is the most festive of the celebratory services held each Sunday with worshipers joining in the singing of hymns, sung responses and prayers.  It is also the largest gathering and reflects the diversity of the church family.

Our 10:00am service is family oriented, with the Sunday School children returning to the sanctuary during the offertory so that they may participate in communion with their families.
